UBI Urgency - Reality Strikes

Soon this type of AI can put on make up, change hairstyles, wear designer clothes and model in exotic location all inside a computer.
It didn't take 100,000 people to make it, but it can easily displace 100,000 people in the modelling industry.
The world eliminates 100,000 traditional and future jobs PER DAY with AI and Automation, and that is an underestimate.
If AI and automation replaced 100,000 jobs per day starting today, that becomes 350 million traditional jobs lost in 10 years.
Such a small number would be a serious underestimate because a better estimate is 1 to 2 billion traditional jobs lost in 15 years with rapid onset of AI and Automation.
What that means is that the rate may be 100,000 jobs lost per day today, but it accelerates each day into a bigger number as more AI and Automation gets worked out and implemented.
Unless we introduce UBI with political energy to understand why we need it, and ring in the changes, the consequences to listening charlatans and out dated politicians would be catastrophic to humanity.
It will all be here in less than 15 years. There is no going back to the old world.

Future of Businesses

With the onset of AI and Automation, not only does the world eliminate today's traditional jobs, but also future traditional jobs at around 100,000 jobs per day.
Strangely no one can employ these people either because the value of what they do is greatly diminished (similar to how cotton pickers loose economic value against a cotton harvesting machine).
Success tomorrow depends on adapting to the numbers with more AI and Automation, and UBI funded by VAT to keep everyone participating in the consumer society whether they are in employment or not.
There is hope. Someone destined to become a cotton picker a 100 years ago could easily be a member of the AI software team with training today. Nothing has changed other than how they have been trained, supported by the online community, and moved into a new career that has high value today (because we chose to direct our efforts that way rather than try to FORCE them into becoming a more efficient cotton picker with zero value supporting a similar policy to what unions demand for their members). If there are gaps in employment because our systems are in a state of flux, UBI in the near future will take care of it because more of us will be caught in that flux and more often.
With the rapid approach of Technological Singularity, there is a pecking order for businesses and their success where enough effort has been put in. Traditionally property, banks, and professions have always been successful. But arrival of computing and mass manufacturing has turned it all around.
Its still possible for now to make success of any restaurant anywhere in the world if you put in enough work and best practice.
The other professions no longer now come with guarantees however.
The most amount of wealth is generated by computing and manufacturing businesses led by inventor innovators.
Next in line are innovator led companies.
Then finally we have mediocre companies which is where all the rest of the professions lie from banking to restaurants to tailors; all of which are subject to AI and Automation.
With the advent of computing and mass manufacturing, we have switched to a new world where a positive balance sheet alone is not a measure of success and wealth creation.
The inventor innovator led companies are the biggest wealth creators but their success rate is 1:50 compared to say restaurants which are guaranteed to succeed where enough effort to best practice has been put in.
The 50:1 ratio is because its not good enough to say you or your company has just invented the latest gadget with 1000 buttons that need to be pressed just to turn it on. It has to be useful and easy to scale to meet mass market demand and that requirement is not so easy to turn into reality.
In the new world order, governments and funding agencies should direct their energy with highest priority to inventor innovator led companies making new products that have AI, robotics, automation, and enhanced convenience.
Second priority is innovator led companies that are generating good revenues.
Third priority is the average company or organization seeking to bring products and services to locals where none exists.

Difficult Topics

Sex, drugs and rock'n roll lifestyles will change forever
No woman or boy will need to sell his or her body to live out a life under the control of others.
But there will be endless schemes to hook women to vulnerable people into such lifestyles - so extreme measures of monitoring need to be in place which would largely need to be in place any way with or without UBI.
But you may choose such lifestyles because that is what you are. You like being high and laughing like a hyena at everything when no one else is, because that is you defined 100% by drugs and alcohol at that moment in time.
If you are hooked on drugs and alcohol, you will buy more with your cash and engage in more substance abuse and still get into debt as others around you take advantage. Again more policing of UBI usage is the answer but 100% cooperation is needed to get help to you.
The reason you get into debt is because these substances burn away your frontal lobes, reduce your thinking capacity, and eventually you become an animal devoid of any humanity or decency towards others as your humanity is destroyed along with your neurons that define your personality.
Large voids can develop in your brain devoid of brain cells and that is a sign you are no longer a whole person - some fraction of what you started off with.
The idea that this level of descent can be repaired with rehabilitation is false if the process has gone too far. (Requires new technology to be developed to replace lost neurons.)
Its creeping death stalking you and one way or another it will end badly if you use UBI to fund your habit.
For the sane people, there is one easy way to control addicts.
An addict's life is spent around getting cash to feed their habits. As frontal lobe brain cells get burned away, what remains are the brain cells devoted to feeding addiction habit in the more primitive parts of the brain. This makes addicts unable to control their mouth, increase their daily rants and verbosity, hallucinate, become more aggressive, resort to controlling behavior, become thief, liars, gaslighters, setting up 'nests' to watch your every movement, patrolling your doors for opportunistic theft, breaking appliances to give them repair money, tampering with devices and chemicals to make you ill, driving away friends and visitors, opening and destroying your mail, making up false allegations, writing fake documents etc. Nothing is safe around them. Including family. Including business. All will fail.
The easy way to control addict when they start screaming and shouting abuse is to blame them for everything and scream back.
Addicts can scream about 3 to 4 hours and then they must run away for a fix.
But you being fit, can scream back at them 7 hours straight non-stop, to take control of your environment.
So you will always win as the addict crumbles and runs away in fear as your fitness and determination takes control back in every contest.
Discuss it with friends to work colleagues and gang up so that you are not alone in this fight. Call the police if violence is threatened - they are on your side.
After a few exchanges like this, they begin to fear you and reduce addiction intake and resort to hiding their habit scared of upsetting you again.
There is no happy ending to this until the addict checks into a drugs and alcohol rehabilitation clinic or ends up in prison where access to controlled substances regulations removes immediate problems. The problem cannot be repaired until the person decides to cooperate and seek out a better life.
There is no point in blaming UBI for this state of affairs.
This descent some people will always find easy to fall into regardless of UBI availability or not.
What UBI does is ween all those who could fall into this trap away from it by giving them enough money to buy books and tools, and make a better life for themselves.
In between these real struggles, there will also be the failing political classes being pushed into irrelevance that would see it as strategic to damage UBI by misleading everyone to focus on the worst developments. A real UBI roll out program would seek out any deficiencies in the way it is reaching people and what they are doing with it. If their activity is ending up with extra costs to the community either in policing, healthcare or social services, then it would be a good idea to fine tune it locally. So UBI may not be valid to spend anything more 1% on alcohol under local bylaws for example. But the real problem are the political classes and what they are doing to undermine UBI. It is entirely predictable scheming political classes would seek to cut healthcare, policing and social services to create an unsafe environment for UBI. The answer for now is vigilance, but in the future it will be Crowd Governance through Internet.
Until Crowd Governance through Internet takes a hold, the failing political classes will seek endless ways to disrupt the progress of AI and Automation. We have seen it in how convenience of Uber taxi service is attacked all over the world as blatant example of people with tiny minds resorting to stoking up civic rage against what the public vote with their feet as progress. In the near future, intelligent buses and taxis would drive themselves to customers depending on the start and end destinations entered on a mobile phone. Are these tiny minded individuals in civic circles going to stand against the benefits of all that by latching on to some fake and unimportant concerns? If so, what happens when cities start building themselves through automation?
There are huge projects under way which had their roots in one or two finger taps on a computer. Every time paperwork and corruption is put in the way of progress it is the local people who suffer while the technological benefits and convenience go elsewhere. The smarter way to move forward is to let paperwork become shared and automated and then check that it is being used (i.e. not just pretend it is needed or pretend it is being used), otherwise eliminate it with force of law and Crowd Governance checking up on every bit of administrative irrelevance. This is to make sure that technology does not pass by your community, and that all communities are openly welcoming to technology that is important to their area. The rate at which technology of convenience and participation can pass by your community is increasing at an exponential rate. If you are a small town or a village, it is so easy to let officials ignore your wider needs such that you have a deficit with bigger towns and cities nearby. Don't let it happen because that deficit will accelerate at an exponential pace. Crowd Governance through Internet can reduce this kind of imbalance because everyone can participate in decisions being made.

The Scourge of Academic Studies

1000 academic studies on Universal Basic Income are fine in themselves, but when animated with completely subversive motives, any outcome becomes possible that has been endorsed by academics and pushed on to governments and through media channels as gold.
The real questions to ask in all these studies is if they are aiming to further UBI from AI + Automation funded by VAT, or are they pushing for a new means tested benefit paid for with new income taxation or unsustainable taxation?
If its not UBI (i.e. its not universal but just another state benefit that only poor people get but not rich, or vice versa), then the temptation to conflate the study with UBI to add some relevance becomes an immense pressure for attention seeking academics.
The price for falling for this kind of state benefit dressed as UBI is that it is not UBI and seeks to bringing in changes under false pretenses that aims to ultimately rob one or more sections of society of their UBI.
